Do you need to follow the DESTY Programme sequentially?

The DESTY Programme is completely child-centred so while the steps are presented sequentially the child has the choice to skip any of the steps and to come back and review them at another time if he or she wishes. In addition, this is not a stand-alone programme, Mentors can bring in lots of tools from their own tool kits to complement the programme. For example, one Mentor realised that her student was consistently confused between sad and angry and did additional work to drill down further on these emotions and resumed DESTY after a couple of weeks.
